A CHANCE ENCOUNTER…

Back in 1997, we decided to turn an old gravel pit into a pay lake with on-site camping and amenities.  We broke ground on the first building in late ’97 and went to work constructing the first building.  While digging a footer for what was to become The Lodge, the owner noticed a young girl walking along the lake towards him.  She asked, “What is this place?”  And the owner replied in full detail about our grand pay lake vision.  She then replied, “Oh! Well, that’s a shame because I’m getting married this summer and this place would be such a wonderful wedding location.”

Over the next few weeks, three more couples stopped by to ask if they could have their wedding ceremony by the lake.

Needless to say, plans for the pay lake were put on halt, and an in-depth family discussion ensued.  Just one year later, The Lodge hosted it’s very first wedding, with The Beach House and Kayla’s Korner shortly thereafter.

We believe in fate and that everything happens for a reason.  This chance encounter was meant to happen.  Our family has had the most wonderful gift given to us… we’ve been given the opportunity to experience pure joy through our couples and their families.  Being a small part in someone’s most special day is an honor for us, and we take it to heart.

We think it’s important for you to understand just how we came to be.  We never sought out to be in the “wedding business” and become one of the area’s most desirable wedding locations.  We’re a small family owned and operated business that hosts weddings and celebrations because we love sharing our beautiful property with couples who love it too.

We are so proud to be given the opportunity and genuinely care about you and want to make certain that your experience with us far exceeds your expectations.  Each and every couple is valued individually… you’re not just another number.  When you get married at Lake Lyndsay, you become a part of our story and ultimately a part of our legacy.
